Corey Hope Nicholson is the Associate Director for Oregon AFSCME Council 75, representing 37,000 Oregonians who work for OHSU, the State of Oregon, counties, municipalities and behavioral health nonprofits, as well as self-employed child care providers. Formerly Oregon AFSCME’s Organizing & Education Director, Corey developed the Emerging Leaders program to train and support the next generation of leaders. She also helped build the United We Heal program and training trust to support behavioral health workers. In total, Corey has led and envisioned campaigns that have brought over 5,000 new workers to Oregon AFSCME.  

She has served on several boards including the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development, Next Up, Uplift Oregon, and as co-chair of the New England Jewish Labor Committee as well as a trainer and mentor to young leaders with the Jewish Organizing Initiative Network. Corey serves on the board of the Provider Services Fund, a non-profit dedicated to representing and advocating for the needs of child care providers in Oregon.

A native of Denver, Corey lives in Portland with her husband Zev and children General and Rebel.
