Eliminating Racism

WHEREAS:

No social ill in America has impacted and defined our communities like racial prejudice; and

WHEREAS:

Racism has become a part of the fabric of our social, educational, religious, political, business and governmental institutions; and

WHEREAS:

Hate crimes and racial intolerance are on the rise. The viciousness of racial harassment and racial bashing is on the upswing; and

WHEREAS:

The continued resurgence of racism cannot be allowed to continue to tear our nation apart.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That AFSCME and its affiliates continue to lead the fight by designing, developing, and implementing programs to reduce racism; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That AFSCME continue to lead the fight against the rise of racism in every way possible.
