We are currently seeking to fill a Staff Attorney position.  This position will handle all aspects of contract enforcement, including arbitration of discipline and discharge cases and contract interpretation matters.  Staff Attorney’s will frequently represent AFSCME before the Oregon Employment Relations Board as well as provide advice and assistance to Council staff and union members on a wide range of labor and employment law issues and assist field staff in training, organizing and representation matters. Background in labor law or labor unions and a familiarity with Public Employees Collective Bargaining Act required.

This position requires a law degree from an accredited law school and the attorney must be admitted to practice law in Oregon, including both state and federal courts, or the person must have the ability to obtain such admissions within a reasonable amount of time from the date of hire.

This position also requires two years’ experience with labor and employee relations.
